Success in women entrepreneurship demands the individual to possess some skills, among them technical skills are important. In the nineteenth century work was done by hand with a crochet hook. It became mechanized around 1880, when the sewing machine was adapted to the seaming of knitted goods. The introduction of a specialized machine allowed women to master new technical skills. First family sewing machines were introduced by America’s Singer Company and others in the 1850s.
